One Small Step for Camden, One Giant Leap...also for Camden!

Forty years ago today, Purdue Alum Neil Armstrong first stepped foot on the Moon. As he took his first steps on the moon, he said, "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." In celebration of this grand event in history, Camden decided he wanted to take his own small step(s). This past week, Camden began taking small steps. Yesterday, he nearly walked the length of the living room -- several times!!! He is making very good progress and he loves it. He gets so excited to reach his destination, usually Mommy or Daddy. He has really learned to be more patient when walking; taking his time and re-gaining his balance as he chugs along. He still enjoys to take off as fast as he can, but that usually results in just a few steps before he is crawling the rest of the way.

For an almost 1 year old, he has a pretty big vocabulary. Some new things he said this week: "SpongeBob" and "Good Girl". He likes the opening song to SpongeBob Square Pants and actually tries to "sing" along. He will then keep saying "SpongeBob, SpongeBob" as he is playing with his toys. He also says "Good Girl" to Rylee, mocking his Daddy and Mommy. Rylee knows what "Good Girl" means, and apparently Camden does too! So as we track his vocabulary, here is a list of what he now says....Maa Maa, Daa Daa, Baa Baa, PaPa, NaNa, Tug, Nummies, Book, Duck, Bob, SpongeBob, and Good Girl.

Camden and Mommy spent Friday and Saturday together while Daddy was at his annual trip to Eldora Speedway for the Kings Royal sprint car race (Tony Stewart's Sprint Car is pictured below). In a few years, Camden will be able to attend this annual tradition! While Daddy was away, they were able to hang out with Baa Baa & Pa Pa Locke as well as the Mitchell cousins. And once again, Camden tried to go to the zoo. However, the parking situation was the same as last time and they ended up not going once again. One day, Camden will get to visit the zoo!!

All of us wanted to wish a Happy Anniversary to Uncle Bryan and Aunt Christy who celebrated their 12th anniversary yesterday, Sunday the 19th!! We're all looking forward to having them in town for two weeks....and maybe permanently here soon!!! Happy Anniversary Uncle Bryan & Aunt Christy!!!
