Camden's First Christmas Celebration

It was a whirlwind week for all of us while Camden celebrated his first Christmas. The crazy week started off with an ice storm on Tuesday. Camden was at Aunt Fer Fer's like any other Tuesday. The ice started coming in just before 2:00 pm, and Daddy closed the office and headed home. The roads (as many of you know) were horrible. The side streets were a sheet of ice. We finally arrived home, safely...but it was definitely bad out there. Mommy was at work, so the roads were not as bad once she came home.

Wednesday morning was Christmas Eve. We had the Baileys, Brass', & McDaniels over for breakfast. Camden enjoyed spending time with everyone so much that he forgot to nap. Mommy & Daddy had to put him in his crib so he would take a nap. He, unfortunately, did not like that idea very much, but did eventually fall asleep. The kids got to exchange gifts and the adults had a white elephant gift exchange. Gifts ranged anywhere from Beer Pong shirts/balls to bathroom accessories. It was a riot!!

Christmas Eve night was spent at Baa Baa & Pa Pa Locke's. We ate lots of good food, including Swedish Meatballs...which Daddy enjoyed very much. Camden will eventually be able to enjoy these someday!! We went to the evening service at the Church at the Crossing. About 1/2 way through the service, Camden wanted to "walk" around; which consisted of Mommy or Daddy holding him in the back of the church. After church, we returned to Baa Baa & Pa Pa's for an annual tradition: Pa Pa Locke reading Twas the Night Before Christmas! Camden enjoyed this very much!!

Santa Claus arrived sometime in the middle of the night to deliver presents. Camden must have known it was Christmas because he awoke early and didn't want to go back to sleep after his morning bottle. Camden enjoyed ripping the wrapping paper off of all of his gifts. Santa brought Camden all kinds of new toys and Mommy & Daddy got Camden a Laugh & Learn Jumperoo. He just listens to the music and tries to attack everything around the jumperoo. He gets a little violent with his toys, sometimes!! :)

Later that morning, we went to visit with Grandma Ratts and then spent the rest of the day at Nana's house. Once again, the Bailey cousins were there and Camden enjoyed watching the craziness around Nana's house. Nana had a great vision for Mommy & Daddy's Christmas present...they got a new popcorn machine for the basement!!! Thanks Nana!! The highlight of the afternoon was watching Uncle Bryan play Olympics on the Wii. All of us got a great laugh out of that. And it must have wore him out because he only did one event!!

Christmas wasn't over just yet...we spent the day after Christmas at Baa Baa & Pa Pa Locke's with the Mitchells and Uncle Justin. Santa dropped off something for Camden at Baa Baa & Pa Pa's house...a rocking horse! The horse shakes his head and tail, and Camden enjoyed "riding" on the horsey! Camden also got a lot of much-needed new clothes...since he is now wearing 9-12 month clothing. He appreciates all of it very much.

On Sunday, Camden spent the afternoon with Nana and Rick while Mommy & Daddy went to the Colts game. After yesterday's season finale, Camden is ready to experience his first Colts playoff run...hopefully all the way to Super Bowl XLIII. And he'll watch it from the comforts of his own home as an e-vite to the 3rd Annual Super Bowl Bash at the Baileys will be emailed later this week!

GO COLTS!!! BEAT SAN DIEGO!!!!
