Sleeping Through the Night???? Maybe!!

Camden has always done very well at night time. He wouldn't have any trouble going to sleep and when we woke up to eat, thats exactly what he did. He would eat and then go back to sleep. Unfortunately, he would go to bed between 7:00 pm and 7:30 pm and then be ready to get up for the day somewhere between 6:00 - 7:00 am. It looks like we may have turned the corner. This week, Camden began sleeping through the night without waking up to eat. Now, he goes to bed somewhere between 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm. He hasn't been waking up to eat until 6:00 am (or so). We then give him a small 4 oz. bottle and he goes back to sleep until 8:30 am. The first couple nights we tried this new routine he woke up in the middle of the night, but we let him cry for a little bit. Then he realized no one was getting up to feed him, so he'd go right back to sleep. Now, he doesn't even bother crying. If he wakes up, he goes right back to sleep. He is doing great!!

We still haven't mastered the rolling over yet, either. He will get very close, but then stop. We then help him on over and he just laughs. He laughs once he is on his tummy and then again once we roll him back over. He is having so much fun, and he is starting to get there!! A few more weeks, and I think we'll have a roller on our hands. We will then begin to work on the crawling!!

On Monday night we all went to see cousin Ryan's Christmas Program at Christ the Savior. We were looking forward to seeing him sing the songs he has been practicing for weeks!! Once his class started to sing, we found out that Ryan did not really like performing in front of large crowds. Camden enjoyed all the clapping after each song, and had fun playing with Pa Pa Locke and his cousins.

On Wednesday night we took Camden to see Santa at the mall. Our intent was to go have his picture taken with Santa in the middle of the mall and then leave. Well, things just didn't work out like that. On the way to the mall, Camden fell asleep in the car. So, once we got to the mall we just went to the food court to get something to eat while Camden slept. While we were eating, he woke up. So we headed back to the Santa station in the middle of the mall. However, once we got there Santa was on break. We planned to just walk around until he arrived back from break. We then saw The Picture People store and went in just to get prices for future pictures. While we were there we noticed that Santa was at that store taking pictures. So we asked if we could just get some pictures taken with Santa. Camden was also dressed in his Peyton Manning jersey. This was his first Colts jersey, so we got some pictures taken with just him in his jersey. So our quick Santa picture turned into a Photo club membership with The Picture People and multiple poses with and without Santa. Oh well, they are only this little and this cute once!!!

On Friday the entire family loaded up the car with all the essentials and took the long trip from Fishers to Carmel. Camden hung out with Baa Baa & Pa Pa Locke while Mommy and Daddy went to Mommy's work Christmas party. Since Camden would be asleep when we got back and the fact that we were going to be at Baa Baa and Pa Pa's the following day, we all stayed all night there. Forget what was mentioned earlier about sleeping through the night. When Camden is in a unfamiliar place (meaning, not his own crib) and he is sleeping in his pack-n-play, all bets are off. He is allowed to wake up and demand whatever he wants!! Thats ok, we'll get him back on the normal routine.

We stayed at Baa Baa & Pa Pa's because all of Camden's Aunts & Uncles and Grandma Hillan were coming down from NW Indiana to celebrate Christmas on Saturday. Camden enjoyed visiting and playing with all of them. He napped very well throughout the day...probably due to his off and on sleep the night before. Unfortunately, Mommy & Daddy forgot their camera. But Aunt Fer Fer brought hers!! Thanks Fer Fer!! But wait, where are those pics?? Oops! Ryan got a hold of the camera and deleted all of the pictures!! It was a good effort, anyway!

Camden is looking forward to visiting with and seeing all of his family this week for Christmas. He'll have an action-packed week, but is looking forward to each and every visit. The Baileys want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!!
