1 Month Old, Already! Camden is Sick!

Today, Bennett is already 1 Month old.  Its been a whirlwind month with plenty to do, and Bennett has been going with the flow....for the most part!  He has been going through a phase where he will not go to sleep after he eats at various times throughout the day, and evening too.  He then gets pretty tired which means CrAnKy!  At night, the only thing that really helped him was nursing.  But then he'd nurse for long stretches of time.  So, we have switched him from nursing to a mix of breast milk and formula from a bottle.  He adapted well to the switch.  He still seemed to be irritable after eating on occassion.

Today at his one month check-up, they diagnosed him with COLIC....oh, no....not again!!  The doctor prescribed a medication that will help soothe his tummy and hopefully result in Bennett being less irritable after eating.  We'll see how that works.  Regardless, his fussiness isn't really comparable to what we experienced with Camden.  Camden's colic days were much, much worse.

At the doctor appointment, Bennett weighed 9lbs. 2oz.  For comparison, Camden weighed 10lbs. 14oz. at his 1 month check up.

Last Saturday, Camden's soccer game was canceled....or so we thought.  The weather line that we called at 8:00 AM said all fields were closed and all games were canceled.  Apparently, they changed the message shortly after we called, and Camden's game was still scheduled.  Unfortunately, we didn't get the updated message until it was too late....already missed game time.  But we spent the day at home playing around.

Sunday was a busy day for us. We went to church, where it was Emma's First Communion. Afterward, we celebrated this milestone with lunch at Aunt Chewy & Uncle Chad's. Sloan's 1st birthday was also on Sunday, so we went directly from the Mitchell's house to the Thompson's. All while ensuring we kept an eye on the Colts vs. Packers game. And what a memorable game that was....Colts being down 21-3 at halftime, only to come back and upset the Packers! It was truly an exciting, emotional game with Coach Pagano being diagnosed with Leukemia earlier in the week. #ChuckStrong

Camden and Bennett had a good time all day on Sunday. Bennett, for the most part, slept the entire time. Camden helped Sloan play with some of her new toys!!

On Thursday (yesterday), Camden woke up with a fever. It was 101. So, needless to say, he didn't go to school yesterday...or today for that matter. He complained of a headache and sore throat. He went to the doctor yesterday and he ended up getting sick at the doctor's office and a couple more times later at home. He didn't have any ear infections and tested negative for Strep. So they said it was viral and needed to run its course. Camden spent the day resting on the couch. He had a temperature throughout the day, but we kept giving him Tylenol to help. This morning he woke up feeling better and has been able to eat a few things today. His temp is back to normal, but with a viral infection it could come back. He has been good to try and stay away from Bennett so he wouldn't transfer his germs. He likes to help Bennett and give him kisses, so this was pretty hard for him. But once he is all better he'll be able to resume. We will see how Camden does the rest of the day today to determine if he'll be able to play in his soccer game tomorrow morning.

In other news, Camden and Bennett's cousins, Breyden and Chase, celebrated their brithdays this week.  Breyden turned 14 on Monday the 8th and Chase turned 13 on the 11th.  Happy Birthday Breyden and Chase!!!
