Whoever said "parenting" was easy??

This post is a double-week post -- Camden's 7th and 8th week. Unfortunately, we were not able to get many pictures last week, so the post didn't occur. Regardless, Camden gets bigger and longer every single day. After an unexpected trip to the doctor this week (more on this a little further), Camden weighed 14 lbs. 4 oz...and he is not even 2 months old yet -- soon though!! His clothes are getting tighter and tighter, length-wise. He is already wearing 3-6 month clothes.

Parenting: We've determined these past two weeks that nothing we read in the books can really prepare you for what you encounter as first-time parents. Obviously no child is the same, and the things mentioned in the books do not always work. There is a lot of trial and error with this parenting concept!! As an example, Camden has days where he just can't get comfy and fusses quite frequently. And by fussing, we mean loud continous cries with his face turning red!! We have to determine whether he's tired, hungry, has a stomach ache, reflux, hot, cold, and so on. We basically just go through the list until we eliminate whats not causing his discomfort. This week we are trying something new: Gripe Water. We have noticed a difference, but the jury is still out on if it really works.

We had a visit to Dr. Layman's office this week to ensure she was on board with the gripe water. Her diagnosis said it was a probable combination of colic and reflux. She gave Camden his first prescription to treat the reflux, and said it was ok to use the gripe water. We got the prescription filled, but decided to try the gripe water first. We were able to give both to him, but we decided (with help from his Aunt Fer Fer) that we would try one -- so we could see which one would work, if any. The gripe water we are using is called Colic Calm. It can only be ordered online -- and the reviews were great. The only drawback is the fact Colic Calm is black (see pic above). So far, so good with this....so stay tuned for updates as to how it is working.

In this week's travel news: Camden got to meet his Great-Grandma Johnson. He was supposed to also visit his Great-Grandma Hillan, but unfortunately he had one of his "fussy" days. It was so bad that Mommy and Baa Baa Locke had to come home. That is when we knew we had to try something new. This is what led us to the doctor's office the following day.

Today, Camden went and had his two month pictures taken. I mean...this kid did awesome!! He posed for his pictures when he was asked, and even gave some very good smiles. Unfortunately, we do not get these pictures until October 11th, so we will not be able to post them until then -- stay tuned! But they are adorable to say the least!

Next weekend, Camden gets to take his first visit to Uncle Dave and Aunt Lynda's. We just know he is going to have a great time -- especially going on his first hay-ride!

I wanna go on the hay ride!!!! LOL! Don't let Camden play with any of Uncle Dave's insanely large weapons. And tell Camden not to be scared of all the random animal heads around the house!
