“Preschool = Immune System Buildup”
We are certainly glad the long and cold winter days are over. With Camden being in his first year of preschool, we have had our share of sickness during the winter season – pneumonia, multiple ear infections, flu, etc. He does, however, enjoy his new doctor’s office. We made a switch with pediatricians just after his 2nd birthday, and it has been a 180 degree difference. When he is in for any visit, they perform a thorough check. We are pleased with the transition.

“Live Shows”
Camden is a big fan of Toy Story. He enjoyed watching the original Toy Story, but didn’t care so much for the second Toy Story. For Christmas, Camden got the Toy Story 3 DVD and we spent many days during the winter watching Toy Story 3 multiple times a day. So when Toy Story on Ice came to Indy in January, we had to take Camden to the opening show at Conseco Fieldhouse. And then in February, we took Camden to see Elmo Live. He enjoyed both shows thoroughly and now when he likes a show on tv, he says he wants to go see it “live”.
“Preschool Update”
Camden has grown up so much since the start of preschool. He is the youngest in his class, with half of the class already celebrating their third birthday. Being around the “older” kids has helped Camden learn and pick up new things. He knows how to count from 1-18, sometimes skipping a few numbers to get to 20. He also knows and can distinguish all of his colors, sing his ABC’s, recognize names spelled out, and most of his shapes. One day, he even surprised Baa Baa and Aunt Chewy by shouting out “Diamond” when they were driving up Keystone Avenue in Carmel, where there are diamond shapes under the round-a-bouts. During parent-teacher conferences, they praised Camden for his growth during the past school year. They also mentioned that he is constantly busy – doesn’t sit long during lunch, helps all the kids put their stuff in cubbies when they arrive to school, and always helps clean up when it is time.
For the second half of the school year, each member of the class was designated as the “Star of the Week.” During the week, each “star” had to bring in a poster with a few pictures of themselves from each year. And on the second day the “stars” had to bring in something for show and tell. During Camden’s week, he chose to bring in Dance Star Mickey, so he could share the “Go Mickey” with his classmates. We had a lot of fun gearing up for Camden’s star of the week; a picture of his Star of the Week poster is below.
He thoroughly enjoys going to school and only has 4 weeks left before summer break. His favorite school days are chapel and Express Kids days. He has learned a lot of new songs and enjoys listening to them on his “iPhone”! He refers to an old phone with MP3 capabilities as his “iPhone”…since Mommy & Daddy have one.
“Wet Spring”
It looks like spring has arrived, but we’ve had our share of rain during the month of April. We’ve had some good days mixed in there as well. This has allowed Camden to play at the park next door and drive his truck around. He is pretty much addicted to the park right now. Even when it is raining out, he wants to go. So, every break of rain we get, we’re probably at the park.
Camden was also excited to take a ride on the tractor. Last year we were not able to ride the tractor because it wouldn’t start. We had the tractor serviced and the battery cables tightened and it runs great now. Now, Camden can “help” Daddy cut the grass this spring and summer!!
