Camden visited Dr. Layman for his 6-month checkup earlier this week. Per the doctor, he is doing great and is ready for sippy cups and finger foods. We are going to wait on the "puffs" and other finger foods just a little longer, however. He weighed 21 lbs. 12 oz., ranking him in the 97th percentile once again. His height continues to amaze us...he is 29.25" tall which is off the charts in percentile rankings. Once again he received three shots -- which he didn't care too much about. He did, however, sit there and watch the nurse poke him with the needle...and then immediately started crying. But it didn't last very long at all. Daddy has to hold him while he gets his shots as Mommy doesn't do well -- uncharacteristic of a nurse, huh?!? :)Daddy took off of work on Thursday to stay with Camden. Baa Baa usually co
mes over on Thursdays to spend the day with him; however, Baa Baa was enjoying the warm sunshine and relaxing atmosphere in Hawaii! So Camden had to spend the day with his Dad! We went to the mall to get some new pj's and jeans. Since he is so tall, he is outgrowing his clothes very quickly. And when we say "outgrowing" we mean it...his little toes literally broke through his 12-month pj's!!! We are now putting him in 18-month pj's and jeans. Since he was so good at the mall he got his Valentine's Day presents early....he got a new Mickey Mouse & Tigger stuffed animal. He loves watching them on tv so he can now play with them even when they're not on tv.

On Valentine's Day, Camden had special visitors. The Keefers came down from Ft. Wayne to visit for a little while on Saturday morning. Baby Katie is 7 weeks old. Camden enjoyed visiting with her and Joe & Stephanie. In addition, Derek & Cindy came over to visit as well. They were there Friday night, but Camden didn't get to see them as he was in bed. Later Saturday evening, Camden stayed with Jen while Mommy & Daddy went to Eddie Merlots' to celebrate Valentines Day. It was great to see the Keefers and Baby Katie!!!
Sunday, Camden got to experience his first Daytona 500. He is in Daddy's Nascar pool; unfortunately, he didn't fair so well in the first race!! He'll rebound though and make a run! We also picked up some pizza and headed to Baa Baa and Pa Pa Locke's to welcome them home from their trip. Camden really loved his new swim trunks and Hawaiian outfit -- thanks Baa Baa & Pa Pa!! He hopes they enjoyed their trip, but is definitely glad they are back!!! :)
Overall, Camden is doing great. He continues to thoroughly enjoy every food we give him. He has had all of his veggies, and is now working his way through the fruit. Unfortunately, he found his thumb and likes to gnaw on it. We keep telling him no, but he still goes after it. He never did take a pacifier, so we'll need to break him of this habit. He also is talking a lot more. His favorite word right now is "Guh". He might be trying to say "Tug"! He will ramble about other stuff and also light up when he watches Mickey, Tigger/Pooh, Handy Manny, & Little Einsteins. He also really enjoys watching Wheel of Fortune -- and its now a part of his routine at night.
