Turning the Corner....Maybe, Just Maybe!

We believe Camden has turned the corner...toward being a very content baby! This week he turned 12 weeks old, and we've noticed a different baby the past two weeks. He is able to understand when it is time to take a nap (with the help from mommy!), and now plays contently with his toys and activity center. Speaking of toys, he absolutely loves his toys. He plays with Ernie, Super Monkey, Funny Monkey, and now Toucan Sam. Ernie is his elephant and Camden loves to hit Ernie. He is now grabbing at things...but he mostly likes to hit his toys. Funny Monkey is just a little stuffed monkey that hangs on his activity center. It doesn't make noise or have anything to grab on to, but Camden can just stare for days at this Monkey while smiling and laughing. Hence the reason we named him Funny Monkey!

He really is making great progress in being a very happy baby. One night this week he did scare his mommy to death, though. He was put down to bed around 7:30pm as normal...and then about 2:30 am mommy woke daddy up and said that Camden hadn't woke up to eat. Normally, he would wake up about 12:30am or 1:00am to eat. That kid didn't wake up until 3:45am to eat. Even though she should have been taking advantage of Camden's great sleep, she just couldn't go back to sleep until he ate. It was nice for him to stretch that long between bottles. But, the following night it was back to his "normal" routine. He is, however, making progress stretching between his bottles.

This week also marked the last full week before Mommy goes back to work. Yes, its been twelve weeks and she is set to go back to work this week. It will be another transition for him, but a bigger one for Mommy. Also this week, Cousin Mike was at the house working -- painting the basement. It looks great...even though his roller broke a porcelain floor lamp. He tried to blame Camden, but it didn't go over too well.

Camden's cousin, Shane Brass, was in town this weekend too (his other cousins too). Shane is 6 weeks younger than Camden, and this was the first time he got to meet Shane, Nia, Suzi, and Shawn. We all met at Nana Browder's house on Saturday night. In addition to the Brass family, Aunt Janice and Uncle Richard were there along with the Baker cousins. This was also Camden's first meeting with cousin Michelle. When Shane first arrived, he laid down by Camden on the floor. Both boys were as content as could be...just looking, kicking, and moving their arms. Camden likes to eat his own knuckle sandwiches, but when Shane brought his arm in front of Camden's mouth...he definitely wanted to try Shane's knuckle sandwich!! It was a great night topped off with Daddy's favorite pizza....Mr. Gattis!!

As we sign off this week's posting, we must mention that with one game left (MNF: Colts vs. Titans) the Baileys are on top of this week's NFL Pool. Kristin is guaranteed first or second this week...both which payout. Chad will win the pool this week with Kristin in second if the Colts win tomorrow night. GO COLTS!!
