Lorraine Hillan

Lorraine Hillan, age 91, of Hobart, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at her home. She was born on June 29, 1924 in Gary, IN to the late Oliver A. and Julia A. Robbins. Lorraine graduated from Emerson High School in Gary, Indiana in 1943. She was a retired Clerical worker for the Lake County Government Complex, Clerk’s Office. She was a past member and democratic chairperson of the precinct committee in Hobart. She was a past member of Trinity Lutheran in Hobart. Lorraine enjoyed traveling, crocheting, crossword puzzles, jig saw puzzles, card games and sewing. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and dining out with family and friends. On November 21, 1954 she married her late husband Charles W. Hillan Sr. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Lorraine is survived by daughters, Laura (Chuck) Hansen, Nancy Lavender; sons, Rich (Joan) Locke, Chuck (Sandi) Hillan; grandchildren, Jenifer (Chad) Mitchell, Kristin (Chad) Bailey, Justin (Kristen) Locke, Sheri (Brian) Keene, Brian (Nancy) Caesar, Drew Hillan, Faith Hillan, Josh Hansen, Jill Hansen; great grandchildren, Chase, Emma and Ryan Mitchell, Camden and Bennett Bailey, Sara Locke, Brandon (Nicole) Keene, Max (Julie) Keene, Zachary and Zoya Keene, Elena, Joshua, and Leah Caesar; brother, Jesse Robbins and her best buddy Sammie.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and three siblings, Henry, Mildred and Russ.

A Funeral service for Lorraine will be held on Monday March 7, 2016 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road Hobart, IN 46342 with Pastor Steve Campbell officiating. A visitation will be held Sunday March 6, 2016 from 2-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel. Cremation to follow. Burial at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
