Pumpkin Patch: A Sign of Fall

PUMPKIN PATCH '09:
Camden's annual tradition of visiting the Pumpkin Patch continued this year. This year Camden went with his friend, Kirby. We better planned this trip more so than last year. Last year, we thought we would just carry Camden. This year we arrived as the place was opening up and brought Camden's wagon so he (and the pumpkins) could ride along. Once we did arrive this year, we were able to have the hay ride to the pumpkin fields all to ourselves. Once we got to the fields, Camden and Kirby took off....trying to find that perfect pumpkin. We left with two Camden-sized pumpkins. The pictures below show how much Camden has grown in the past year. The first picture was Camden's first trip to the Pumpkin Patch in 2008. The second picture is this year's trip. In addition to picking out pumpkins, Stoney Creek Farms had a lot of other things to do. Camden and Kirby had a great time running through the straw maze and putting their heads inside the character carve-outs. They also had a corn-cob launching device (sort of like a potato launcher). There was a target in the middle of a pond. The Mommy & Daddy and John & Shelia (Kirby's Mommy & Daddy) took turns trying to hit the target...but it was Daddy as the only one to hit the target!! After that, the boys went on a pony ride. Camden fussed a little bit during the ride, but we are almost certain it had nothing to do with the pony. Instead, Camden had been running around on his own and didn't want to "sit".

We had a great time and look forward to continuing the ritual next fall as well.

FOOTBALL UPDATE:
Camden's cousins wrapped up their football seasons, and he would like to congratulate all of them for a wonderful season. Logan's team got beat a game shy of the championship. But he did great...and even was voted the team's Sportsmanship Player. Logan received the award during halftime of the championship game. CONGRATULATIONS LOGAN!!!
Both Chase and Breyden made it to the championship games!! Camden was at both games to cheer them on. Chase's team didn't quite win the championship, but played hard. They only lost two games this whole season -- both to the same team. CONGRATULATIONS CHASE ON A GREAT SEASON!!!
Breyden's team posted a championship -- and in dramatic fashion. Now remember, these kids are in 5th & 6th grade...and it came down to the final play of the game. Breyden's team was on the 10 yard line and had to kick a field goal to win the game. The 27 yard field goal was made and Breyden's team upset the previously unbeaten Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to clinch the championship! CONGRATULATIONS BREYDEN!!!
The Colts continue to roll along with a perfect record. And Purdue scored its' biggest victory in years....a 26-18 win over # 7 Ohio State. Daddy is still smiling over this victory!!!

CAMDEN UPDATE:
Camden continues to learn new things daily! He is now working on pointing to his nose, belly, ears, eyes, & stinky toes. We will call them out and he points to them. He also knows several things in his ABC book. We'll ask where's Rylee...and he will turn to the page with the Dog. And then we ask where's Tug....and he goes to the Cat page and so on. He does the same thing with his own toys. He is a busy, busy boy!!
He loves Yo Gabba Gabba....and for one of his Christmas presents he is going to go see them -- LIVE! In Chicago. They have a Live show overseas, but this is their first trip to the U.S. They are going to be in 3 cities for 3 days - LA, NY, & Chicago. We were able to get Camden tickets for the Chicago show on December 5th...and he'll be center stage in the second row. We are looking forward to the event to see how he reacts to the Live version!!
